Things you must be aware of
- The CE mark is valid in the EU states:
- curtain walls according to EN 13830 since 1st December 2005
and - windows and doors since 1st February 2010.
- From this dates all nationally applicable tests and classifications are replaced by the CE mark.
- According to EC directives the company that brings the end product curtain wall, window, fixed glazing and door on to the market, i.e. the metal fabricator, is responsible for the CE mark.
- Curtain walls, windows, fixed glazings and doors that are either not or falsely marked may not be marketed in the EU states.
- The advantage: one classification for the whole EU.
